This article in the Observer was thoroughly depressing. Bad enough that £70,000 is a "good" salary , but I agree with the writer when he says that it doesn't get you very far. It all makes you wonder what hope there is!

That is right up there with the "fact" that tube price rise is the fault of falling numbers of people travelling to work in banks. As if they didn't go up every year. As if the bankers are driving in instead as opposed to enjoying lengthy staycations thanks to their redundancies. Pah.
